Winter Landscapes
A very fitting theme with this week’s weather and some excellent entries. Trying to judge the best has been very difficult for this one which is also shown by how close the people’s vote was. Well done and thank you to all that entered and voted. The brief this week was to ‘Show the lovely winter landscape as best you can’. There were so many great entries this week but as usual there can only be two finalists.
The people’s favourite this week goes to Mark Stubbings for this picture moody scene of a bridge in woodland. The brown/grey colours and muted filter overlay gives this picture a real feeling of a wet winter. Well-deserved win by Mark.
My pick goes to Graham Slater for this picture of a frosty morning. I like it because it’s a shot that totally depicts winter. Sometimes it’s not about taking the obvious in a landscape shot, the little things around you or, in this case, underneath you, can also make for a good shot. I think this picture captures the feeling of a cold winter’s morning and it’s done in a not so obvious way. Well done Graham a great response to the theme.
Both Mark and Graham will receive a TSoP mug or a Day Course in Photography and their shots will be entered into the grand final!
