Street Portraits

Firstly, I have to say well done to all that entered in this week’s theme. To get good pictures of street portraits is not an easy task and I praise the people that entered. True dedication to photography!

The theme for this one was simple ‘To get out there and take some interesting portraits of people you’ve never met before’. This week the people’s favourite, and my pick, goes to the same photographer, Dave Christian. It’s a cracking shot, taken in Spitalfields Market.

When you’re taking shots like this, you have a split second to capture that person and in that time, you want to create an image that you can stare back at, an image that forces you to look closer. If you’ve done that, you’ve got a good shot and Dave has certainly done that here and I’m proud to say that Dave is a past student of the TSoP. I’d like to think that my teaching had something to do with it! :)

Dave will receive a TSoP mug or a Day Course in Photography and their shots will be entered into the Grand Final!

Winning images of this year’s competition will be uploaded tomorrow. Please vote for your favourite image by going to our Facebook page.
