Into the Distance

This week’s task was ‘Into the Distance’. I set this theme to test student’s control of ‘Depth of Field’. DOF is controlled by 3 elements within photography and students had to control those techniques to show a sense of distance in a creative way.

We had some excellent entries but there can only be two!!

The peoples vote goes to Archie Peck for this moody view over the Thames Estuary. Really like how the sun is trying to break through the clouds which is typical of the English winter! Great shot!

My vote goes to Simon Adams. The grass in the foreground is a great technique to show a sense of distance in a picture. Shooting through objects is a really nice technique to give foreground interest to a shot. Great response to the theme.
