Depth of Field

This week’s task was ‘Depth of Field’. DOF is controlled by 3 elements within photography and students had to control those techniques to show a sense of distance in a creative way.

We had some excellent entries but there can only be two!!

The winning images from our gallery are…..

The peoples vote goes to Teigan Moore for this view of the English countryside broken up by looking through this rusting hoop. Really like the foreground interest and adding that vignette in Lightroom draws your eye to look through the hoop. Good shot!

My vote goes to Maureen O’Sullivan-Day. Most of the shot is taken up by a blurry grey foreground which can be seen as a negative thing to do to a photograph. However, in this shot it only draws your eye to what’s through the hole and creates a frame within a frame. A very creative response to theme, well done.
