Jerry Uelsmann effect in Photoshop
In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to recreate the surreal photographic effects made by the artists Jerry Uelsmann. This is a great technique that mixes surrealism, photography and photoshop.
Jerry Ueslmann is famous for creating surreal effects in the darkroom and in this tutorial, we will be recreating them in photoshop. It’s a really fun task to complete and will be great for students studying Uelsmann in their projects.
In this tutorial we will cover the following Photoshop techniques:
Blending two layers together using the blend modes
Turning your own photography Black and White
Using curves to create contrast
Using layer masks to adjust the final look.
