Long Exposures

To test our students’ use of shutter speeds, this week’s task was ‘Long Exposures’. We looked at light painting photography in the last lesson so this task was to put that knowledge to the to the test and boy did they do that!

From the gallery of entries, the people’s vote goes to Paul Bertram.  A well-deserved winner with this shot from inside a car. Paul set up a tripod in the back seat of the car to get this shot and that effort paid off! It looks similar to the professional shots taken to advertise cars. Great shot Paul, well done.

My choice goes to Adam Broomhead. I really like this shot and the way it’s been edited. Any lights will bleed out during a long exposure shot and this is a great example of that. The ghost figure is caused by the model coming into shot half way through the exposure and standing still. Good control of long exposure, well done Adam.
