Frame Within a Frame

Well done to the winners of this week’s assignment ‘Frame within a Frame’. This theme is designed to test student’s response to our lesson on composition. In photography, composition is one of the most important things to get right. A good use of composition can turn an okay shot into a great shot, and it’s really easy to do.

The principle of Frame within a Frame is simple. Just find something within your scene to frame the main part of the image in, therefore creating a frame within a frame!

Lots of excellent entries were submitted and here are the winning two.

The peoples vote goes to Emma Cunningham for this creative shot of Tower Bridge. A great example of using frame within a frame to bring the viewer’s eye straight in to the bridge. A well-deserved winner.

My choice goes to Karren Knight for this shot of some people framed within a circular bench. A lovely use of composition and the frame within a frame technique, well done Karren.
